Nicole Kidman has really been pushing the hairstyle envelope while in Cannes. First we gawked at her awesome faux-hawk ponytail. Now, check out the major braided updo she wore to last night's end-of-festival press conference.

What really stands out about this updo—aside from the fact that it literally stands out a lot—is how there's no delineation where the mass of hair meets Nicole's head. It's just one flowing wave of hair and braids. I'm curious to hear whether you ladies like this effect. It's definitely a new and artistic take, almost like a cross between the faux bob and an updo. Personally I find it a bit odd, but maybe I'm just grumpy after a big Memorial Day weekend of partying (a college friend's wedding—I'm exhausted).
